Mahinda Club successfully completed its annual CSR initiative at Kimbissa Primary School, dedicated to the memory of late committee member Chan Liyanage, whose commitment to the Club and the community continues to inspire us.
The project also honoured the memory of former Treasurer Mahinda Guruge and Mrs. Princy Wijesingha, wife of senior member Mr. Saman Weeratunga, recognising their valued contributions to the Club’s journey.
As part of the initiative, free health camps and legal consultations were conducted for students and the surrounding community, with the support of the Dambulla MOH Office and professionals from the Mahinda College alumni community.
The project also focused on improving the school’s facilities, including the completion of a partially constructed school building and the renovation and repair of several existing structures, including the Shrine Room. School bags, books and stationery were distributed among students, while the school received a computer and photocopy machine. A multimedia projector was also donated to the MOH Office in appreciation of their continued support.
Lunch was provided for more than 750 students, staff members and participants, adding to the spirit of community and togetherness throughout the day.
Mahinda Club extends its sincere gratitude to Brigadier Medanka de Alwis and his team, as well as all the families, volunteers, professionals and well-wishers who contributed to the success of this initiative.
Through projects such as these, Mahinda Club continues its commitment to serving the community and creating meaningful opportunities for a brighter future.
